Great Britainers, It Is!

I love it! I love it! I love it! Who knew that I was going to get so many great answers to all of my questions? I learned so much that I feel it necessary to do one more post about all of this. I just wanted to point out a few things.

First and foremost we learned more than we ever needed to know about 'Goodygang'. I wasn't sure what randy meant so I looked it up in Wikipedia. I was going to put a link to it on my post but then I remembered that my blog is G rated so, unfortunately, I will not be sharing that definition. Feel free to check it out on Wikipedia under Randy if you haven't figured it out, yet. Poor 'Goodygang', I really think you had no idea what you were in for with that.

I have mistakenly called some of you Europeans and I thoroughly apologize. I obviously had no idea. I think I have it figured out now... No, I'm still having some trouble. But, I think it is safe to call you British or English.

On to my Canadian friend Reluctant and why I didn't address those questions to her. That's because I was lumping her in with us Americans. Oops. Sorry about that. I didn't even realize that the Queen ruled over Canada until I watched that guy on you tube. I found him to be very enjoyable, by the way. And thanks for all that good info on the Canadian Bacon. I think it is all cleared up, now.

I get the overall feeling that we Americans seem to be naive. I can see how that would be the perception. I think that some of us question our country's role in the world, but find it hard to question without being seen as someone who doesn't support the country. I don't know if that makes sense. I also laughed when Working mum described us as 'loud'. I laughed because I can't believe she has never met me. Yes, we are very loud.

Thank you, ladies, for all of your work on that. We are breaking down barriers over here at Amanda's Life.

That was a great post. Fab idea and much fun. Interesting what you say about feeling that Americans can't easily question policy without being seen as unpatriotic.

And if you ever call me European - well, you'll make me feel quite chic. You can call me what you like - err, but not randy.

Thanks Amanda, it's been great fun. Don't want to cause another load of confusion, but have you considered that the UK and Canada are also part of the British Commonwealth? I think I can hear your head exploding from here!

This was more enlightening than an Oprah special on women around the world!

You're adorable. Completely. I was also delighted to find out that Americans think Canadians are always happy.
What working mum says is true - about the commonwealth, along with Australia, New Zealand, India, among other countries. The queen ruling Canada thing... It's purely symbolic. We're self-governed.

P.S. My husband is from Tonga and they are still ruled by a King there. Not that that has to do with anything, but there you have it! LOL

You could argue that the US continues to have its fair share of 'royalty'. Seems to like dynastic families running the country - Kennedy, Bush .... Clinton?
