I just had the unfortunate experience of visiting a blog that made my heart truly hurt. It was supposed to be a blog about eating healthy and how as Americans we over consume everything. Hey, on these two things I am in complete and total accordance. It makes me physically ill how much we have and how much we waste. When my husband and I go to dinner we will order one meal and share it because the portions are gigantic. The only part where I fall off the wagon is saying mean and hurtful things about someone else that does not share my opinion. Who are we to judge each other? Yes, we can be sad that someone does not 'get it'. But to be so outright judgemental and mean about another human being? I just can't go along with that.
I thought it would be fitting to go ahead and share one of my favorite recipes. Go ahead and eat it up. There will not be anyone saying your a bad person for doing it, here.
Blondie
3 eggs
1 stick of butter
1box (16 oz) brown sugar
2 cups self rising flour
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 cups walnuts
1 cup coconut
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix eggs and softened butter well. Add brown sugar. After that is mixed well, slowly add flour. Add vanilla. Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Make sure your pan is greased well. I like to use a larger bar pan to make mine, but you can use a 9x13 if you don't have a larger one. I bake it for about 20 min. Just watch the top and pull it out when it gets a little brown.
*Don't ask me what blog it was because I am sparing you the pain of reading it and I don't want for her to get one more person on her counter from me.

You're so smart.
Between Sea Islands and your mystery blogger you've been having some bad luck. However, I've got to agree with you. It's surprising to see how venomous some people can be on-line. I think some must lie in wait for people to post just so they can rip their good intentions to shreds.
I do worry about how my humour gets interpreted. So far I'm hoping to always be given the benefit of the doubt.
Now about measuring cups - are you a purist who lightly spoons or sifts dry goods into a cup, or do you just dig in with the cup and hope for the best. One day I'm going to give a US-style recipe a go and I need to find out the methods of choice.
I totally agree with you. I came across a blog today about weight loss and the woman posted asking whether she should praise or shame herself. Shame? I mean, obviously, go with the praise. No matter what. Even if you did eat a chocolate bar (oh the crime! the horror!). Because honestly? If you aren't nice to you, who's going to be?
I hate all the self-hate and fat-hatred and all the diet-related-nuttiness out there. Sorry for babbling on... This just makes me crazy.
Your blondies look delicious, by the way.
It's ashamed that this didn't have any cocoa powder in it!
Looks good, I'll let you know when I try it.
Thanks.
thank you for the recipe, they look great. I lock the time clock thing, but it would be one more thing I would have to wind up, set, clean, fix, keep track of and it would probobly be broken when I went to use it!
Sorry to post twice. Can't locate your email address & I just wanted to let you know that I tagged you on a meme at my blog. Thanks!
Well I love the blondie but i love it without the nuts please.
