This is the last official shot of the mullet. For those of you who are just tuning in and have no idea what I am talking about, let me fill you in. Emma Mae has been the brunt of some not so nice mullet jokes by some not so nice family members. She has a very low degree of mulletude (I would say she is only about a 1 maybe 2), since she is only a baby. So I took a poll on my blog to see if I should cut the mullet. I think I was not prepared for so many people to vote against the mullet. It was some very overwhelming number like 17 to 4 in favor of cutting the mullet. It was a little harder for me to cut the mullet than I had imagined. Or maybe I didn't think I would have to. Anyway, here it goes. I cut the mullet.
It's only a little shorter than it was. Listen, we all know by now that I am not a professional hairdresser. I am a stay-at-home mom. That is my job. Cutting hair is not my job. Not to mention I don't have any official hair cutter scissors, so I used my kitchen ones. I'm sure there are those people thinking I should have taken her to a professional. Well, I'm just not going to do that either. I already have 4 haircuts that I have to pay for, so why spend $20 more on a baby one. But, it looks pretty good if I do say so myself. The last picture is evidence that I really did cut it. It will be going to her baby book. Thank you to everyone who voiced an opinion on my sweet Emma Mae's mullet.

You are brave. I can see that was tough for you to deal with. But you did good!
I'm lucky. Ellie has a neighbourhood fan with hairdressing skills. She's going to get free haircuts for at least the next five years!
So lucky...I have a friend who cuts hair but she is too far away.
Good job little mama. Next time I would be careful about what you have a poll for. Just to let you know I voted to keep the little mullet. So I was on your side in all of this and I'd say you are brave to follow thru with your commitment to cut or not.
I love her hair short. She is so cute. Love ya Emma Mae
Amanda you crack me up. Feel free to check out my family website whenever, as long as you link it on your blog...I also have a blog but it has nothing really to do with my family.
Oh yeah, one more thing...has my mom given you back your books? Let's see has it been 4 years now. I know they're at her house and I would have delivered them myself this summer but you were out west when we visited.
I also voted to keep the hair. You are brave. It makes me sad and she is not even my little girl!!! Not that it looks bad or anything, but for some reason it just makes me sad! LOL
It sounds like there was a tainted poll. Does this have anything to do with you, not so nice family member, 'rauscher family'? Stinker.
I promise I only voted once. And if you could see Little Miss Emma Mae in person you could see how darn cute she is with the hair cut.
Okay let me clear something up my blog isn't a secret. I started it because I was going to start a store on Etsy.com, and wanted a blog to go with it.
I don't think I am going to start the store but I decided to keep the blog. I just never got around to telling my mom or my sister about it and now they are telling me I am keeping secrets...whatever! Most of close friends know about it, so tell whoever you like the more the merrier right?
I cut the boys hair myself. With clippers. I'm funny that way.
Baby hair is so sweet and soft, isn't it? I voted against cutting the mullet. I didn't think it looked all that much like a true mullet (called "hockey hair" here in Canada). But she looks cute with her new 'do anyway.
Well I voted to cut the mullet. but that was before I saw the cute pony tails. The short hair is very sweet
I love the hair cut. But I would have not cut it, she was cute before also.
Christy
YOU MAY BE SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT I TO VOTED TO KEEP WHAT US HAIR STYLISTS LIKE TO CALL THE BILEVEL HAIR STYLE. I THINK THAT IT WAS PRECIOUS BUT SHE COULD HAVE NO HAIR AND BE GORGEOUS. I SURE DO LOVE THAT GIRL. YOU DID A FABULOUS JOB CUTTING HER HAIR BY THE WAY AND IT WILL GROW BACK IN NO TIME. SO IS COURTNEY GOING TO CUT MCKENZIE'S REVERSE MULLET NOW?
