Last Night's Dinner Convo

**Warning for all of you underage viewers out there, this post may not be suitable for younger viewers.**

Last night at the dinner table we discussed making babies. You may be saying, 'how can that happen at the dinner table?'. I agree, it's scandalous and I will try to make sure it never happens again. Maybe. Here's how it all started. (some of the details are fuzzy because you never know you're going to be having a convo like this until you are half way into it, know what I mean?)

Jonathon mentions something about how there are so many of us in our family. He says that maybe we shouldn't have had so many kids and I say, 'which one should we have stopped at?'. Of course, he replies,'Me'. Then the laughter and arguing begins about where we should have stopped and someone in the crowd mentions having more babies. I say, 'You guys want us to have another one?'. At this point Jackson turns to me with a shocked smile and says, 'You can MAKE you're own baby?'. I say, 'Yes, with dad's help I can make my own baby.' Then comes the 'how's and 'ooo's and all of the things that come along with making babies talk. We discuss that dad and I hug and then sleep in the bed together and that's how we make a baby. (no judgements out there, I just refuse to really name parts and give exact movements to a 6 and under crowd, ok!) Jonathon speaks up and says that he is never going to do THAT. At this point my parental guilty conscience whispers in my head that I am having him take care of the younger ones so much that he never wants his own kids. Thankfully, I find out very quickly that it is not that at all. He says he will get married and have a wife but he will never do THAT with her. To which, Jackson says, 'You won't hug her?' Jonathon gives me a knowing smile and says, 'I'll hug her and kiss her but I'll never do THAT with her.' That was it. Everyone got up and went to bed. I want to remember that forever. And now, with this post, I can show his wife later, that there was a point when he was adamantly against doing THAT!

Where Have I Been, You Ask?

It's been so long since I stopped posting, I can't even give a good reason for stopping. It seems like I was having computer drama. I can't remember, maybe I got busy at the farm. I can't even remember if we had chickens when I last blogged. Oh, this will never work. I'll just have to recap the last year and then we can start fresh again.

In the last year we have;
-Had a mama cow die after giving birth to a baby cow. We then had to feed it milk in a bottle, only you have to do it just like the directions say, which we didn't and so after a few months we had to put said baby cow out of it's misery. Awful.
-Ordered baby chickens during the winter when it is too cold and the casualty rate is much higher than my feelings could bear. Maybe one day I'll be able to share the story about the flood in the chicken coop, but now, 8 months later I'm still too raw to talk about it.
-Taken my oldest son Jo Nathon (that's his new nickname) to sleepover camp 5 hours away at the University of Georgia. He wouldn't even let me give him sugars before I left. He went for swim. It was so good for him that he qualified for State Age Group at a meet two weeks later.
-Cut the mullet into a nice little bob with bangs. (need I say more?)
-Moved out of our house while our new house at my husband's grandparents farm was being renovated. Everyday Emma Mae would ask me if we could just go home. It was torturous.
-Lived with the inlaws.
-Moved into the new house.
-Bought a milk cow that was starving to death from the Agrirama in Tifton, Georgia. Literally. The State cut their budget and they couldn't afford to feed the cows. She actually almost died because we left her in a field by herself with a bail of peanut hay. She almost ate herself to death because she had been starving so long. She's doing very well, now so don't you worry another second about Puney.

Oh, there's so much more but maybe it'll come to me later. I haven't taken a picture in forever. I went out and took one specifically for this post.

That's the barn where all of the chickens are housed. We have about 100 of them that survived the afore mentioned flood. (excuse me while I dry my eyes) We get 3 dozen eggs every day. If you live close, I'll sell you a dozen for $2. That's a good deal. Come by and see me.

This is the view from my backyard. Those black dots are some of our 30 or so cows. Puney is out there somewhere. Maybe one day I'll actually get some milk out of her.
That's where I've been and where I am. As for blogging, I'm BACK.

Ground Control to Major Tom

Is this thing on? Are you still there?
