What's that ol' addage? Nothing is sure in life but death and taxes? I think I got that right. Today is officially tax day. Every year it is the same day. April 15th. It hasn't changed since 1955. So, you would think that one should be prepared for this every year. Right? No. Unfortuantely, my taxes are still not done. Josh sat down with our fabulous CPA, VGP*, ENL**, Kathy, on Sunday and began the preparations to get our taxes done. I went through all of our statements searching for anything having to do with cows, rentals or truck repair. We found all that we could, but there were still some things missing. Yesterday, Josh had to call the banks to get some info from them and left it on his desk at work. Last night, he called Kathy and asked her if it would be okay for him to give her the info in the morning. She said that would be fine. I am a nervous wreck. You can always file for an extension, however, if you do that this year you won't get any of the 'free money' that is being thrown in all of our directions. Otherwise, known as the stimulous package. I want to do my part in helping stimulate the economy. You know, I want to feel all patriotic and American by going out and spending all of the 'free money' that I get from the government, too.

Death and Taxes
When am I going to get it together? When am I going to be totally prepared before the day that they are due? I don't know. Those questions seem to large since, technically, my taxes for this year are still NOT done.

lol...love the cartoon :)
"free money"...hehehehe
Hope you get it in on time!
Best of luck. I'm going window shopping on Wednesday - I'll keep any eye out for some patriotic purchases you might make.
Also, I'm sure I saw a Simpson episode about filing Homer's tax return at the last minute... which makes me an expert at understanding the US tax regime.
It's got something to do with standing on the wrong end of rakes, hasn't it?
Y'all will make it before the dead line. We have the same CPA, VGP and ENL and she won't let you down!
It's been very stress free for us this year, we did ours 2 weeks ago. I don't know why I always take it down to the wire because it feels so much better doing it early. Good Luck!
I always put off ours until the last minute too, we always have to pay.
I hate to admit it but hubby and I still go to H&R Block. :) I don't think I could do it on my own. OK, hell, I KNOW I couldn't.
taxes - ick. thankfully they have simplified the system here, but it's still one big black hole lol
Someone told me that the "free" money will be deducted from your return next year.....Has anyone else heard that?
Elizabeth- I don't really know how it all is supposed to work. I just hope I get it.
haha funny
anywho i have a new blog as well ! will you go check it out ???:)
thanks doll !!!
haha.
At least you are consistent and that brings me comfort. So thank you.
My husband is what you call...what is the opposite of procrastination?...Anal retentive? So, he was quite frustrated when we didn't receive our W2s by the 1st of February. It was the cause of some stress around our household. I'm glad I'm here to make him late for things and to forget things regularly. That's just part of my mission in life.
