Katelyn

This morning Pat (Verla) called to let me know that someone we love is having a hard time with a pregnancy right now. She has low amniotic fluid. Pat asked if I would call out there and talk to them about Katelyn. I thought my blog might be better because a picture is worth a thousand words.
When my friend Karen got pregnant the first time, she found out very shortly after that she had low amniotic fluid. She was not working and we talked every day. She had a special diet she had to eat and I remember seeing jugs and jugs of water at her house. She had to lie on her left side all day and drink so much water that I am sure she never wanted to see water again. She went to see a specialist and her regular doctor all the time. I think that time was probably pretty hard for her, even though she would say, "It just is what it is". The baby couldn't really move around since there was so little fluid. I remember wondering if their baby was going to be ok and what she would be like. Finally, at 36 weeks Karen went to the doctor and they said they weren't sure if there was enough fluid for the baby to make it through the weekend. So they did an early c-section. When Katelyn was born she was small, but she was beautiful. You would never know there was ever anything different about that pregnancy. This is Katelyn at Emma Mae's birthday party and she is happy, healthy and doing great.
If any of our Utah family are reading this, will you share this with that someone that may be having a hard time. Please let her know that we love her very much and will pray for her and hope that her baby will be as happy and healthy as Katelyn is.
