I'm against goal setting. Just personally. You can set all the goals you want to, but don't think less of me when I don't jump in there with ya in your goal setting madness. I love a routine and I adore the heck out of some structure, but I won't go near the goal setting. Here's why. This happens every time I even think about setting a goal. Promise.
I get a goal in mind. I don't work toward goal at all. I feel like crap for not doing said goal. I lay around on couch feeling sorry for myself because I'm a worthless good for nothing who can't even stick to a goal. It's really bad.
So, I'm just against them. Therefore, I have not set any goals for 2009.
Well, with that in mind I went to the gym today. But I wasn't planning it because 'I don't set any goals'. I was wearing a velour hoodie and pants. Has anyone out there ever tried to workout in velour? Oh, it's bad. Please don't do it. The whole time I was working out all I could think was that the cute little gal working there (in her sports bra and shorty shorts, weighing in at about 95 lbs soakin wet with her spray tan and belly ring) would come over and say,' Ma'am, I'm going to need to ask you to get off of the elliptical machine because we're concerned your thighs may spark a fire.' But I made it. I made it through 45 min. What an accomplishment. I'm so proud of myself.
I'm not planning on going back next week, though. You know, unless I just get the urge. Like say, maybe Mon, Wed and Fri. But really, only if I feel like it. Not making plans, though.

I totally agree...I hate setting myself up for failure. ps-hope to see you in Feb.
i'm getting a mental picture - and it's cute and fluffy! i just did m's new paper run with her - that's my exercise for the day - it's roasting outside and there were hills!!!
Well, good luck with that, you know the not setting goal thing.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!! Hilarious! Okay so I DID set a goal to go workout this past week on Mon, Wed, Fri. Now ask me if I did! Nope!!!! Maybe I'll do better this week and if I do......I'll be sure not to wear valore!!! I wouldn't want to start any fires! LOL
Good for you!! And just think of all the calories you burned wearing that fire suit. :)
I agree and I'm going to take your approach from now on. Just put it out there - NO MORE GOALS! No broken promises, no broken hearts. I like that!
I to make goals and then fail and feel like crap. One day I will just break the cycle.
I think its great that you work out at all. I should but I don't. maybe one day
Thanks for the velour tip. You must have been working hard.
Go sparky, go!
Yeah... goals lead to despair and guilt. I'm against them, too.
I have a gym membership. And a new craft shop on Etsy. And an application in to grad school... And I'm trying hard not to disappoint myself. So I know exactly what you mean.
