I've been waiting for something to come along that would stand up to the New York posts. Let's just say, it's not happened yet and I don't think that it will anytime soon. What I'm going to need everyone out there to do is just lower your expectations a little. Well, a lot. My life is just not crazy fun all the time. In order to get over my intimidation, I'm just throwing this post out there.
Here's a few things that make me completely weird.
See that picture up there? That's a shot of the last bite of my sandwich from lunch. I got the idea for this post the other day when I was doing the dishes and I saw that sitting there. I realized that it is probably a little strange that I never eat the last bite of a sandwich. Thankfully, most of the time I have a few little munchkins walking around that will gobble it up for me. (Can you tell it's almost Halloween?)
I hate frozen things. Thinking about this is making my face cringe but I will try to get through it. I hate popsicles of any kind and those things that you push the plastic and the popsicle slides up to the top make me crazy. It's not just popsicles. Ice makes me crazy, too. Like if you just washed your hands and they are not completely dry, then you go to get some ice out of the freezer, oh my goodness, it's too much to even think about it. Even just going to pull the meat out of the freezer to lay it out for dinner is a little traumatic.
But don't think all that keeps me from wanting ice in my drink. I want a lot of ice in my drink and I want a straw to drink it with. But I only want ice if I can get it from the icemaker not if I have to get it out myself.
I don't want to eat french fries that come to a sharp end. I only eat the fries that are sort of square on the end.
I have a very particular way that I put mayo on a sandwich. I want the whole piece of bread to have an equal proportion of mayo. Meaning that you take the knife and spread it lightly all the way across the bread until it is all lightly covered. I don't want a big squirt of mayo in the middle of my sandwich.
I know you don't really care about these things and my world does not end when I have to lay out chicken for dinner, I just thought you might enjoy my funny little oddities. I'll bet if you sat down and thought about it you have some interesting things that make you a weirdo, too.

I think people do care about these things... otherwise why would they read a personal blog? I love these little details, they give a little look at who you are.
Fun post! Really!
NYC - don't need it... We just need Amanda (if I can speak for everyone).
Reluctant housewife said it, we just need Amanda
I love all your craziness. The more I get to know you the more I can understand you.
for me I hate popcicle sticks. just thinking about them in my mouth makes me feel icky.
The good thing is that I don't have any odd "things"...Nate on the other hand, that boy has more oddities than any one I know.
our oddities are what make us special amanda! oh yeah, by the way - i'm HOME!!! 20 hours of flying PLUS layovers. it's 5 in the morning and i've been up for hours! a good chance to check on emails i guess! when i find my camera, i'll upload and blog. for now tho, it all feels just a bit overwhelming!
miss you already. ny just wasn't the same, altho i did manage to amuse myself for a whole entire week lol.
I'm with ya on the Mayo thing! That's exactly how I spread it too.
I so can relate, like I can't eat a chip with powdered flavoring on it, unless it's tucked in my sandwich.(I let the kids put them on so I never touch them) I don't walk under trees in the dark, and I smell everything! which is a very bad thing sometimes.
he he. I get it. I like my mayo spread nice and even too.
Yep, just Amanda. More stuff like this please!
I never drink the last mouthful of tea. It's a throw back to when I was little and we made tea with loose leaves instead of bags. There were always a few leaves at the bottom of the mug and if you drank them - yeuch! Drives my husband mad that I never finish a cup. Heigh ho!
