Dance Fever

There's my girl. In her cute little dance outfit. How sweet is she? We started dance today and we were counting the minutes until it was time to go. She has been ultra excited. Another reason she has been really excited has something to do with that sweet little girl in the next picture.

Has everyone met Shelby? I can't remember if I have posted about Madi's best friend that goes to her little school and is now in her same little dance class. That picture would have been so cute if Madi had just looked up. Oh well, I feel like Shelby's cute little face expresses enough joy for the both of them.

Before they could go in, they had a quick stop at the water fountain. I think they must have been prepping those cute little bodies for all the work that a 45 min 3 year old dance class is going to entail. Wish I had more pics of the actual practice but the door was shut the whole time, so this was it.

I will say that this really cute little girl who appeared to be about 9 or 10 told me how cute and thin Madi was. I said, "Yep, she is, but look at you. You're like a little tiny rail." At this point she grabbed what was not even a quarter of an inch of what I'm sure was totally muscle on her little belly and said, "No, I'm not I wish I was that skinny." To which I couldn't say anything. All I could do was fill up with total and complete concern for the world that I'm sending my little girl into... But that's another blog for another day.

Today my girl started DANCE!!!

I'm wondering who was more excited you and Christon or Madi and Shelby! Those are the cutest pictures! Thanks for taking them and posting them. I get to take her next week. Maybe I'll get some cute pictures too. I'm so glad that they are BFF's!

Madi is darling. What a doll!

I was wondering why someone would ever comment on a 3/4 year olds skinniness, but apparently she has some issues that really are troubling. I don't even let the word "diet" come into our home - it scares me how consumed we are all becoming... even my boys wonder about calories and too much sugar, etc. Ahhh! Anyway, good luck to us - here is to raising strong, confident, healthy children!!!!

How odd to compare yourself to a 3 year old. I'm trying not to be scared too.

They are completely lovely.

I've just posted about Peaches 'diet'. Very educational.

Well I am totally excited that Amanad and Christon have the girls at the same studio as Bethany, and Lynsey. What joy. I didn't really say alot, but deep down I really really really wanted everybody to be together.

That means they will all be in the same recital at the end.

Lynsey always tells me she is on a diet (she is 15). I think she is way skinny but she just has a little bump that she cannot stand.
Even though she says she is on a diet she eats everything she sees. I have tried to talk to her about what she could do to get rid of her little bump, but I guess it is all talk.
I know that food is a real issuse with some kids. However, I do believe that alot of kids are just saying it because they think they are suppose to.

Anyway, did I tell you how excited I am that they are all at the same studio.

erin- as you can probably tell, we ended up going with Jessica Dominey. Partially because they were the most inexpensive, but mostly because Lynsey and Bethany (echo's girls) were already there.

callie- amen to that. I'm hoping that as long as we provide them with what they need for their self esteem at home, they won't have to worry about all that other stuff.

They are so precious and I am excited I am sure that she is going to have all the moves just like her mother.

I can't believe you...whatever I always liked Jessica, Kate and Heather were too good of friends for me to feel any hatred. I do wonder what dancing at Jill's cost now a days for a little one? Good luck to Madi, I hope she has fun!!!

As for body image...when I was dancing in college at BYU I once had a meeting with my teacher, he told well if you lose some weight you will definitely be a better dancer...that was the beginning of the end for me.
